With the perception of a streetwise New Yorker and the delivery of a charming court jester, Glenn Hirsch raises stand-up comedy to a refreshing level of hilarity. An articulate, intelligent performer. Hirsch’s routines find ridiculous twists and turns in the most banal daily events, expressing those absurdities in spontaneous, off-the-cuff monologues uncontaminated by the usual peppering of profanity.
Graduating from Queen’s College in New York with a drama degree, he took on the city’s renowned club circuit. Fine tuning his craft, sharpening his joke writing and making a name for himself in such celebrated showcases as The Improv, Catch a Rising Star, Caroline’s and The Comic Strip.
Soon afterward, Glenn began a cross-country marathon of comedy clubs and college campuses, adding even more polish to his already shining act. Since then, he has played more than one hundred colleges and clubs and has toured as an opening act for such legendary performers as Dolly Parton, Barry Manilow, Kenny Loggins, George Benson, The Temptations and Gladys Knight.
Hirsch has racked up some very impressive TV credits, including the Tonight Show, A&E’s “Evening at the Improv,” “Caroline’s Comedy Hour,” FOX’s “Comic Strip Live,” VH1’s “Stand up Spotlight,” and Showtime’s “Comedy Club Network.” No stranger to Prime Time, he has made appearances on “Murphy Brown,” “Dallas,” “Billy” and was cast in the lead of HBO’s feature film “Instant Karma,” to name a few.
An eclectic comic with something for everyone, Glenn calls himself a “full-service comedian.”
Be sure to join Mick & Mook on July 27th for what promises to be an entertaining episode.
