As promoted in the tagline of the podcast, A Mick A Mook and A Mic, sports will be one of the frequent topics of discussion. Therefore, I thought it would be apropos to provide the website with my blog, vSportsTalk, to share sports insight and opinions – and to get the podcast’s fans blood boiling.
With my old friend, the ‘Mook’, being a New York sports fan, and I residing in Boston, it has been fairly easy for me to aggravate him over the years, so let’s see how many of his followers I can piss off, too.
So, who the hell am I? Well, let’s just say I was a wanna-be pro athlete who fizzled-out in college and ended up working in the Sports Industry for decades. From being a ‘big shot’ in the Racquetball Industry – to publishing multiple sports magazines and websites – to co-hosting a sports talk-radio show – to working in baseball for years, I’ve had an interesting and enjoyable sports career. During that time, I’ve met numerous famous athletes and sports executives, and I have more memorable stories than I’m willing to share. However, over time, I’ll expound upon a few of those memories.
With that said, let’s move on…
This is a great time of the year to be talking sports. With the NBA and NHL moving toward the playoffs, MLB underway, and the NFL preparing for a new season, there’s a smorgasbord of sports to discuss. Hence, in this blog, I’ll be sharing my thoughts and opinions on pro sports and, since I worked in amateur baseball for years with many leading national organizations, I’ll offer some ‘inside amateur baseball’ info, too.
Now that my intro blog is out of the way, keep coming back to AMickAMookandAMic.com often – look for my vSportsTalk blog – and get ready for some good, old-fashioned sports ‘BS’.
