Tony O’Dell, who never met a person he didn’t like, is a television and film star best known for his roles as Alan Pinkard on the ABC sitcom Head of the Class, and as Cobra Kai member, Jimmy, in the movie The Karate Kid and the subsequent hit series Cobra Kai
O’Dell has also appeared in several other films including horror classics: Chopping Mall and Evils of the Night, plus sitcom’s Suddenly Susan, The George Lopez Show and K.C. Undercover, to name a few.
Born in Pasadena, California, Tony’s first role came in 1978 in an episode of the NBC TV Series CHiPs.
After years of being an actor, Tony now prides himself as an acting coach. He encourages his students, who are usually in their early teens, to be well-rounded actors to avoid limiting themselves to specific roles. He is also a dialogue coach, helping students learn their lines to ensure they know the dialogue. He is very proud of the work he on the three Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies.
As a Disney channel acting coach, one of Tony’s most prominent students is Zendaya, whom he has coached since she was 13.
